The Repticus
were once primitive reptiles, as lowly as any other beast or animal
in the world. But an evil god, Tyranus, evolved them into an intelligent
species capable of thought, speech, intelligence... and hatred. They
became bipedal, like humanoids, and began to build and learn. Eventually,
they grew in numbers and strength, and embraced the art of warfare
as a major part of their lives. The reptiles became the Repticus,
and joined together to destroy the other races of their continent.
They had grown so powerful and skilled in the art of battle that none
of the other races could stand against them. These races were pushed
into hiding as they neared extermination. At one point, Eldar Elfaren
from across the “Sea of Squalls” arrived as an exploratory
force, only to be caught up in a conflict between Repticus and Dulklakan.
These Eldar Elfaren were slaughtered, with two young princes being
the only survivors. These princes made it back across the sea to their
homeland to tell their tale of the merciless and fearless Repticus.
This tale spread throughout more civilized lands, causing one race
after another to hate and fear the Repticus, a people they had never
seen.
After
their great successes, the Repticus named the continent Drak'ul, in
honor of their god, Tyranus, for Tyranus appeared to them as a great
dragon of many colors. For years they worshiped Tyranus, but eventually
he slept and it was during those many years that his hold on the Repticus
began to weaken. The nation's first Imperator was Rilengath Shadowscale,
and with the wisdom and words of his most trusted Tribune, Predatorus
Viktus, he began to realize that the Repticus did not need to bow
down to any god. At the moment the Imperator declared war on Tyranus,
he awoke from his slumber. Angered and betrayed, Tyranus rallied his
allies from across the seas and brought them to Drak'ul. “The
Greate War” was waged, with heavy losses on both sides. But
in the end, it came down to a battle between Rilengath and Tyranus.
Rilengath defeated Tyranus, thus sending the evil god's allies scurrying
across Drak'ul in fear, fleeing from the fearsome Repticus. But in
so doing, Rilengath died as well, his blessing of immortality leaving
him when Tyranus died.
As Rilengath
died, his last commission was told to Predatorus Viktus. He told him
to bring the Nation together again, to rebuild the greatness they
had before the war, and to make amends to the other races. For the
Repticus Nation to survive into the future, they would have to live
in peace with the races they had committed so many sins against in
the past. Predatorus swore an oath, and set out to unite the Repticus,
rebuild what was lost, and bring true peace to the land.
